Twice Thou (Made Men) Interview

Twice Thou is an emcee, mentor, and businessman from Boston, MA. Originally under the name E-Devious, he was a founding member of the hip hop group The Almighty RSO alongside Benzino (formerly Ray Dog), Tony Rhome, and DJ Deff Jeff. In 1986, the group won the ICA B-Town Rap Battle and released the single “We’re Notorious” two years after. In 1994, they released Revenge Of Da Badd Boyz EP and later appeared on Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit album Rollin’ With The Flavor. In 1996, The Almighty RSO released Doomsday: Forever RSO LP which featured Faith Evans and Mobb Deep. Two years later, Twice Thou and Benzino formed the group Made Men with Cool Gsus. The new group first appeared on DJ Clue’s album The Professional and then Made Men released Classic Limited Edition in 1999. Twice Thou has additionally written for and recorded with Montell Jordan, Nas, Dionne Warwick, Ma$e, Monica, Big Punisher, Mobb Deep, Master P, and many others. His clothing business, Antonio Ansaldi Clothing Company, has employed local, at-risk youth and supports social causes. Since the launch in 2001, Twice has sponsored community events like his annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaways and AIDS Awareness campaign. His customer base for his clothing line includes Ludacris, 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr., and more. His brand has been featured in the films Shaft, Save The Last Dance, Exit Wounds, Torque, and more. In 2011, Twice went to City Life/Vida Urbana as a homeowner in foreclosure seeking help and found an great support system with tools to fight back. He began volunteering time for members in need of assistance. Twice is a founding member of 4PEACE, an anti-gun, anti-drugs, anti-gangs, and anti-violence group that speaks at prison, high schools, and community centers to decrease violence and change lives. His focus is to stimulate the youth through visual art, music, edu-tainment, and fashion design.
