Greg Nice (Nice & Smooth) Interview

Greg Nice is an emcee and producer from New York City. Early into his career, he traveled with T La Rock as a very talented beatboxer. Later he joined Smooth B and DJ Teddy Ted to form the influential group Nice & Smooth. The group first appeared in 1988 on the song “Skill Trade”. The following year, Big Daddy Kane featured Greg and Smooth B on “Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy” from the album It’s A Big Daddy Thing. Nice & Smooth released four albums between the 80s and 90s with their most popular song being “Sometimes I Rhyme Slow” from their 1991 album Ain’t A Damn Thing Changed. Greg and Smooth B also became widely recognized for their guest appearance on Gang Starr’s famous song “DWYCK”, among other collaborations with The Beatnuts and Tony Touch.
