DJ Rockin’ Rob Interview

DJ Rockin’ Rob is a hip hop DJ from the Bronx, NY. Beginning in 1978, he would bring his DJ equipment and speakers to Clark Park and spin records for local crowds until 3am. Rob was often joined by the original Mean Machine crew and they would use electricity from the traffic light pole. Rob was also a master at covering the records so people wouldn’t buy the same records he owned. Rob perfected the art of needle dropping and has been an inspiration to other DJs from all genres of music.
