DJ 7L Interview

DJ 7L is a producer and DJ from Boston, MA. With many years of crate digging and spinning vinyl at parties, 7L earned a reputation as a multi-talented DJ and producer in various genres, especially in hip hop. In 1992, he teamed up with MC Esoteric as the group 7L & Esoteric and released their first 12″ single “Rebel Alliance” in 1996. They released several more singles and were featured in The Source Magazine. 7L & Eso released their debut, Speaking Real Words EP, in 1999 with the title track featuring Inspectah Deck. Their official full-length album, The Soul Purpose, was released in 2001 and led to a European/U.S. tour along with Best Hip Hop Album award from the Boston Music Awards. Several albums later (Dangerous Connection (2002), DC2: Bars Of Death (2004), Moment Of Rarities (2006), A New Dope (2006), 1212 (2011)), 7L & Eso reconnected with Inspectah Deck for a full-length collaborative album under the name CZARFACE.
