Ayatollah Interview

Ayatollah is a Hip Hop music producer from Queens, NY. He’s been creating music since the 90s and received his first taste of mainstream exposure by contributing to Mos Def’s album Black On Both Sides, producing the hit single “Ms. Fat Booty”. Rawkus’ Soundbombing III album. Soon after, he produced another big hit, “The Life”, with Styles P and Pharoahe Monch that appeared on the Rawkus Records Soundbombing III compilation album. Since then, Ayatollah has produced for many influential artists such as Rakim, Cormega, Apathy, Sean Price, Saigon, Wu-Tang Clan, Royce Da 5’9″, Styles P, Guru, Masta Ace, and countless others. He’s released several instrumental albums and is a member of the group T.H.U.G. Angelz with Hell Razah and Shabazz The Disciple, both affiliates of The Wu-Tang Clan. In 2015, Ayatollah formed COLOSSUS, a trio with production team Widowmaker, releasing an instrumental album in 2015 called Ayatollah Presents: COLOSSUS.
