TheBeeShine Cypher #18: DJ Butter, Ro Spit, Nolan The Ninja, Wesley Valentine, Aztek The Barfly, LAZ, & Killa Ghanz
An all-star lineup of Detroit artists showed up to represent in TheBeeShine Cypher #18. The cypher is hosted by DJ Butter, who also produced the beat. Butter has been an instrumental figure since the early 90s, providing a platform for unheard artists on his various mixtapes, DVDs, and Funky Fresh In The Flesh magazine. He’s interviewed Eminem, Kid Rock, Method Man, and countless others before they were well-known. He’s featured a young Royce Da 5’9″, D12, and Guilty Simpson on his mixtapes, as well as producing the song “Shit Can Happen” on D12’s album Devil’s Night. Butter was accompanied by some of the younger artists currently buzzing, such as Nolan The Ninja, Ro Spit, Aztek The Barfly, and LAZ of the popular group Clear Soul Forces. Wesley Valentine features in this cypher as well, who was a close friend to Proof and recorded countless songs together. The video closes out with a story from Killa Ghanz about how La Peace Vs. Eminem was one of the best rap battles to ever go down in Detroit history at the Hip Hop Shop. Ghanz was frontman of the group Cardi Boys; the only Hip Hop groups to ever receive a sponsorship with Cartier who provided sunglasses for the fans at the live shows.
