Lord Finesse Interview

Lord Finesse is an emcee, producer, and DJ from the Bronx, NY. In 1989, he and DJ Mike Smooth signed with Wild Pitch Records and released their debut album in 1990, Funky Technician, with production from DJ Premier, Diamond D, and Showbiz. Finesse later formed the group D.I.T.C. with Showbiz, A.G. and Diamond D. Later, the group included Fat Joe, O.C., Buckwild, and Big L. In 1992, Finesse released the album, Return Of The Funky Man, featuring Percee P and A.G.. In 1994, he produced “Suicidal Thoughts” for The Notorious B.I.G.’s album, Ready To Die. In 1995, Finesse produced much of Big L’s album, Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous. In 1996, Finesse’s album, The Awakening, featured KRS-One, MC Lyte, Akinyele, Kid Capri, and more. Finesse has production also featured on albums by Capone-N-Noreaga, Dr. Dre, Fatboy Slim, and more. In 1999, he released the mixtape, Diggin’ On Blue.
