DJ Hurricane Interview

DJ Hurricane is a hip hop producer, DJ, and emcee from Queens, NY. At an early age, he was introduced to Davy DMX in the Hollis neighborhood after Davy’s brother heard Hurricane freestyling in the park. As the friendship grew, Hurricane started hanging out with Run DMC and Jam Master Jay, before eventually meeting the Beastie Boys. Hurricane joined the Raising Hell Tour in 1986 as the Beastie Boys’ official DJ. In 1995, he released his debut solo album, The Hurra, on Grand Royal. His sophomore album, Don’t Sleep, was released in 2000, featuring Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Xzibit, The Lost Boyz, Faith Evans, Public Enemy, Kool G Rap, Heather B., Adrock, Black Thought, Scott Weiland, and more.
