TheBeeShine Cypher #6: T La Rock, Silver Fox, & Kool DJ Red Alert
TheBeeShine is extremely proud to announce its sixth cypher video, this time with some serious hip hop legends. Silver Fox is a Harlem native from the group Fantasy Three. The group became local celebrities with the 1983 song “It’s Your Rock”. Fox played a major role in teaching both Kool G Rap and LL Cool J how to rhyme, which later influenced an entire generation. T La Rock became the first rapper on Def Jam to be produced by Rick Rubin. He recorded the 1984 hit “It’s Yours” and toured the world for decades. Kool DJ Red Alert is one of the most influential radio disc jockeys since 1983, known for introducing countless hip hop songs to New York City’s air waves and triggering a rapid growth of hip hop culture.
Needless to say, these three artists have made a tremendous impact on both hip hop and American culture.
