The Arcitype | Interview

The Arcitype is a producer and engineer from Boston, MA. Born in NYC, his father enrolled him in music school at a young age. His family moved to western Massachussetts where he began playing the piano, and the guitar soon after. Arcitype played lead guitar in a blues/funk band and toured the east coast between 1998-2000. In 2002, he had set up a home studio and focused on producing hip hop music for the blues samples that he grew up on. He moved to Boston to pursue an audio production degree at Emerson College. Arcitype built relationships with the local talent and established a studio in Cambridge called The Bridge Sound & Stage. He runs the record label AR Classic Records and has collaborated with many great artists including Craig G, Kool G Rap, Scarface, Smif-N-Wessun, Termanology, Vinnie Paz, and many others. In 2012, Arcitype teamed up with Ruste Juxx to release V.I.C. with Duck Down Music.
