MC WhiteOwl Interview

MC WhiteOwl is an emcee, DJ and producer from the Westchester County, NY. Born in the Bronx, he was rapping and DJing since 1988. He worked at the college radio station at Binghamton University and learned to use the MPC 2000. He became a regular DJ at NYC’s famous Wetlands club and was the only DJ to spin hip hop and rap at Koncrete Jungle. After years of selling mixtapes on the street, WhiteOwl received signed a record deal with Reprise 2001. He traveled the U.S. with hip hop group Bad Ronald as an opening act for many bands. In 2011, WhiteOwl met with Bruno Beatz and after recording the song “The Secret” together, they recorded a full album, Higher Intelligence. The album features guests production by Statik Selektah, Termanology, and more.
