GhostWridah | Interview

GhostWridah is an emcee from Miami, FL. Introduced to hip hop by his older brother, Ghost was mesmerized by the culture, specifically emceeing from Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, OutKast, Slick Rick, and others. He wold write verses for his peers in high school and the name “ghostwriter” stuck, later changed to GhostWridah. His older brother received a 20-year prison sentence, which changed Ghost’s perspective on life. In 2007, he moved to New York to pursue a music career. He landed a few ghostwriting gigs that allowed him to launch his own company, The L.Y.F.E. Music. He also met DJ Green Lantern, who acted as a mentor while in New York. In 2008, GhostWridah released an album with NorthStar Management, The Ruler’s Back, which featured Paul Wall, Shawty, Lo, Malik Yusef, and more. Ghost returned to Miami and released the mixtape, 305s & Heartbreak, with contributions from Trick Daddy, Smitty, Trae, and Slim Thug. His latest album, Downtown Lights 2.0, was released in 2012.
