French Montana | Interview

French Montana is a rapper, originally from Rabat, Morocco. He grew up playing football and rapping. At age 13, French moved to the Bronx with his family. In 2002, French released the Cocaine City mixtape series with his friend Cokeboy Los after being inspired by the SMACK DVDs. French showcased his music and incorporated interviews with both major and up-and-coming artists. In 2003, French was shot in the head leaving a recording studio in New York and survived. In 2012, French signed a joint record deal with Bad Boy Records and Maybach Music Group, with Rick Ross and Diddy executive producing his debut album. He released the Mac & Cheese 3 mixtape in 2012, followed by his 2013 official album, Excuse My French. The album features Snoop Dogg, Scarface, Diddy, Drake, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Birdman, Raekwon, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and many others. In 2014, French and his group Coke Boys released the Coke Boys 4 mixtape.
