Elijah “Apuat” McKinley of The Trees | Interview
Elijah “Apuat” McKinley is an emcee from Philadelphia, PA. At age 11, he was invited on stage by G. Love & Special Sauce to perform with the band. After years of cyphers and live performances, Apuat attended Penn State University and became a member of three rap groups. He released albums with all three groups as well as a solo album called Slayer Of False Prophets. Apuat lived in a recording studio he built, until graduating from law school. In 2010, he released a mixtape, The Book of Eli, and passed the bar exam that same year. His official debut album, Man Can Change, by his group The Trees was released in 2011.
