Rabbi Darkside | Interview

Rabbi Darkside is a Brooklyn-based emcee, DJ, beatboxer, and educator that represents Say Word Entertainment. He has been featured in URB Magazine, TV Guide, The Village Voice, and The New York Times, as well as appearing on MTV, MTV2, BET, NBC and Showtime. In 2008, Rabbi released his internationally acclaimed debut album, Building The Better Bomb, a musical documentation of experiences and interactions. Beyond Race Magazine wrote “…has a clear message to educate and better the world. Optimism is complemented by great beats, witty lyrics, and intelligent references. This album is also intensely personal…” Rabbi starred as Head Coach on MTV’s Made and toured North America, Europe, and South America. As a renowned freestyle artist, he has won several prestigious freestyle emcee battles such as End Of The Weak’s 10 year anniversary co-champion, Kool Mixx NYC finalist, 16-time Off The Head Game Show champion, and 2-time Whose Rhyme Is It Anyway? champion. Rabbi has worked in the NYC Public Schools for over a decade, as a teaching artist for Urban Arts Partnership, developing groundbreaking rap-based test prep curriculum and teaching performance poetry.
